This suite of pieces was written at my time at Oberlin College. The Electronics Department was overseen by Gary Lee Nelson. The suite was an amalgamation of my studies there one summer. One of my original compositions was placed in the archives at the Electronics Department. ‘Oberlin’ was composed in one afternoon at the Oberlin Electronics Lab using sounds I had never used before. It incorporates quotations and stylistic nods to several composers. ‘Webern’ is a tribute to the small footprint of composer Anton Webern’s music. ‘Glass’ is a tribute to Philip Glass and his minimalist style. The ‘Finale’ is an original piece in keeping with the style of the other pieces.
